A PONY barn has been saved from demolition as Cotswold District Council agreed to halt enforcement action.
Members of the planning committee previously expressed their fury that planning regulations were flouted by retrospective applications and decided to take enforcement action to restore the barn to its agreed size.
The barn, which lies in a conservation area at Newbold Farm, Duntisbourne Abbots, was built 0.46 metres higher and 0.3 metres wider than the approved planning permission given in April 2005.
However, at a planning meeting on Wednesday members back-tracked on taking enforcement action as the modifications were so slight.
Cllr David Broad (Chedworth, Cons) said: "I think the best way out of this is to not take enforcement action at this stage but let the threat lie on the table for the next four years."
