TWO paramedics had to be taken to hospital after their ambulance was involved in a crash in Royal Wootton Bassett.
The incident occurred on the A3102 at around 6.40pm earlier this week on Monday, January 8
An ambulance and a car were involved in the collision, but there were no serious injuries.
The two ambulance workers were taken to hospital for assessment, but they were not admitted.
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust also revealed that there were no patients onboard at the time of the crash.
A spokesperson for the ambulance trust said: "One of our double-crewed ambulances was involved in a road traffic collision on Monday 08 January at 18:38hrs on the A3102 near Royal Wootton Bassett.
“There was no patient on board when the collision happened.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, and an operations officer to the scene.”
The ambulance was not on blue lights at the time, the service said.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson added: “At around 6.40pm on Monday, January 8, we responded following a collision between an ambulance and car on the A3102 in Royal Wootton Bassett.
“There are not thought to be any serious injuries.”
