A CELEBRITY bodybuilder shared his top tips to staying fit at a launch party of a brand-new training facility in Cirencester last week.

James Hunter Crossley - best known for appearing in the original Gladiators series on ITV - helped new gym owner Jack Gower put participants through their paces at a lively demonstration at F360 Fitness in Querns Business Centre on Wednesday evening, March 6.

The bodybuilder said accountability, consistency and having a high stake goal is the perfect recipe to create massive life changes.

Personal trainer Jack, with help from his father-in-law, has transformed a vacant office space into a sleek, modern gym fitness centre.

The former Cirencester College student has always dreamt about running his own gym and invited friends, family members, councillors and charity representatives to celebrate this milestone with him.

The fitness centre provides exercise classes for small groups (a maximum of 15 participants) as well as bespoke personal training sessions.

It originally opened under the Fitbox franchise in January, but Jack has since decided to go solo and rebrand the business to F360 Fitness.

The new business owner said: "The reason I chose the name F360 Fitness is because we are a functional training facility.

"We workout for a minimum of 36 minutes, you will burn a minimum of 360 calories, you are surrounded by 360 degrees of fitness and we are open 360 days of the year.

"The dark design of the gym is intentional as many people who come to my sessions are middle aged women who often feel intimidated by the ordinary gym set up.

"A lot of other gyms are plastered with mirrors which can make people feel self conscious.

"During my classes the workout floor is dimly lit with strobe lighting so the participants don't have to look at themselves in the mirror or compare themselves to others and can just focus on the workout itself.

"In my sessions I also offer substitutions to people who need it so everyone feels included.

"I want to help people feel better inside and the outside gym."

Jack's dad Simon emphasised how although the fitness centre is a commercial operation, they would like it to become an inclusive community space.

Simon said: "We have so many exciting plans for F360 in the future and really want it to become a community space for everyone in Cirencester to enjoy.

"We invited representatives from Cirencester Housing for Young People to our launch event because it would be great to work together to improve their young people's physical and mental health through fitness.

"We would also like to offer a safe training space for victims of domestic abuse and individuals recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.

"We also want to establish a relationship with local emergency service workers and NHS key workers by offering discounted memberships to these amazing public servants."
